What is a diving header?

Technically, it is a ball struck near ground level by the head of a diving player. Yes, diving and hitting the ball in the same movement. In fact, players direct the ball with their head, but also use their entire body as well. Attackers must be brave as they often have to dive in the middle of defenders’ boots. It is an audacious move that enables them to get to the ball first. Well, in this video, Robin Van Persie invented the flying header as he way above the ground. Arguably, one of the best the diving headers of all time.
